Neal Dodell

Neal Dodell's practice covers a variety of areas in finance and real estate including the sale, lending, and leasing of all types of commercial properties and the working out of troubled loans. Mr. Dodell:
- Represents lenders and borrowers in loan transactions and lenders in modifying troubled loans;
- Represents sellers and purchasers in all aspects of property acquisition and development;
- Represents landlords and tenants in the leasing of commercial space; and
- Handles a variety of land use and conveyancing issues for banking institutions and developers.
Mr. Dodell's experience includes:
- Representing an institutional investor in selling large equities including office buildings, shopping centers and apartments complexes, while at the same time purchasing smaller properties in the $10 to $20 million range;
- Representing financial institutions and private lenders in supervising and managing the closing of commercial loans in sizes from $2 million to over $200 million;
- Serving as landlord's attorney responsible for the leasing and property management of office complexes of all sizes;
- Negotiating successful loan workout for lenders including modifications to avoid foreclosure;
- Representing community groups seeking to redevelop urban properties through partnerships with local government; and
- Contributing to an Alternative Project Delivery Systems presentation by The Advisory Board Company (for medical facilities) which focused on new cooperative delivery methods for facility construction.
Mr. Dodell has served as in-house counsel for life insurance companies including MetLife and ING concentrating on the sale and management of real estate equities and the making of portfolio loans.
